Own that ish!

Inner beauty. People are sheepish when it comes to this topic. But i feel like it is super important. There are so many angles that you can approach inner beauty. But I have had one thing on my mind when it comes to this topic.

I've had a lot thrown at me in the last while that tells me i'm not good enough. I think a lot of people feel this way. Don't believe whatever is being thrown at you. If you're always telling yourself that you aren't good enough - then that will become your frame of mind. You will live your life bowing down to something that is not true AT ALL.

I want you to take a moment and think about 5 things you are amazing at. DO IT. NOW. I know you are thinking this is stupid... but do it. Really think about your talents and how they help others. Don't think about someone who is better at them, or something that has made you feel insecure about them. Just think about you and how you feel about that strength that you have. Own it. Be brave. Be confident. People will always have their opinions but guess what? You have an opinion too. Guess what else? Yours is the one that matters most. If you own your strengths people will have no other choice but to believe you are the best.

Feel that? That's called confidence. You need that to survive - to show others you have a lot to offer.

Be supportive of yourself. Love yourself even when its hard. You are your number one fan so only you can set the tone for your inner self. Your soul and mind need you. Don't let them down. Don't let me down. I'm rooting for all of our readers.

Sorry not sorry that this post is on the deeper side of things. Thank you so much for reading.

XOXO,

Brooke

Red Lip July

We are feeling patriotic today as we celebrate our great nation.  We decided to put a makeup look together that is casual and festive.

This can be worn to any summer party and BBQ and isn't pricey at all!

We paired this toned-down red lip with a soft brown eyeshadow and a little black liner. We also added bronzer for a sunkissed glow.

The red lip is the star of the show and is the Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm in #240 Striking Spectaculaire. Isn't it gorgeous? And totally affordable.

Try it out and let us know what you think!

Happy Summer Season!

Xoxo,

Ashley

Stress Reducer

Lately I have been trying to find ways to decompress at night. Sometimes I will listen to relaxing music, and sometimes I even just take in some deep breaths.

A couple of weeks ago I was at Target and found this Shea Moisture Lavender & Wild Orchid Body Butter that claims to have a calming effect.

I have really enjoyed this lotion, I put it all over my body and it really does help me wind down at night.

I also have tried this Bath and Body lotion Eucalyptus Tea lotion and like it too, but this has a very strong Eucalyptus scent. I personally like it, but some may not. The body butter from Target is more subtle.

I hope if you are finding ways to relax you will enjoy this lotion too! Both lotions are inexpensive.

How To: Look like Alexa Chung

I LOOOOVE Alexa Chung's style and makeup. I think she is absolutely stunning and now you can do your makeup just like her with the help of one of the best makeup artists around, Lisa Eldridge.

Her undone style is so chic and effortless. It's truly perfection.

Enjoy!

Do You Need Retinol?

Retinol

Retinol by everydaygandb featuring Peter Thomas Roth

Don't make an appointment with your nearest dermatologist, I am saving you the trip. I have done my research people, and it's all in the name of beautiful skin.

Most of us have actually heard of Retinol, but what does it actually do? When do you use it? Is it expensive?
I am here to break it all down. I am gonna tell you the 5 W's about this amazing product.

WHO: Retinol/ Retinoid is just another fancy name for Vitamin A.

WHAT: A treatment originally used for acne, was discovered to have amazing anti-aging benefits.

WHEN: You can start using a retinol cream after age 25 but probably as you get closer to 30. Also you apply it at night, the formula breaks down in the sun/light.

WHERE: Apply to you face nightly, and if your skin gets sensitive use it only a couple times a week.

WHY: It works, it helps with acne, fine lines, smooths skin, discoloration and helps with cell turnover.

So why wouldn't you want to use this amazing product??? Well, you shouldn't use it if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or experiencing extreme sensitivity.

Also to note, you don't have to buy the expensive stuff. According to all the articles I read through, the products in the drugstore works just as well as the $125 face cream. They only difference between drugstore and high-end is there is one extra step the cream goes through after applied to the face. That's it.

I hope this simplified it for you. I am going to use retinol for 30 days straight starting today June 1. I can't wait to see my results!

Ashley

the jimmy CASE

I am a purse lovin' fool, I would have a new handbag everyday if I could. But sometimes, just sometimes... I need to take the bare essentials with me.

For those of you who need a simple solution, I present the Jimmy Case.

A phone cover that holds your cards and ID's (up to 6), that isn't bulky! I have seen those other phone cases around that hold cards and cash, but they add an extra two inches to the width of the phone, and who wants to shove that in the back of your pocket?

Did I mention, it's cute? I love the sleek design.  Obviously they have some for the guys too. But I am loving this pink and grey for the ladies.

I tested it out at the movies,  I stuck my ID and few credit cards in the sleeve, and it held those babies tight. I wasn't worried about them at all.

With Father's Day coming around, wouldn't this be a great gift for all those dads out there? The cover on the phone seems very sturdy and safe and comes in black & white with different styles of pockets.

As of right now their website sells cases for the iPhone5, 5S, 5C, iPhone4, and the Samsung Galaxy S4.

So if you are in the market, check out their website here.  I have a feeling this will be my essential summer item!
